GreenFunds
Money word, in plain English

Portfolio

Everything you hold, taken together. Also the full set of securities a fund owns.

Basics

Example. A portfolio of one stock is a bet. A portfolio of forty is an investment.

The word works at two levels. Your portfolio is every investment you own across accounts and asset types. A fund portfolio is the list of securities that fund holds, published every month. Thinking at portfolio level matters, because risk lives in the combination rather than in any single holding. Six funds holding the same companies is one bet wearing six hats.
