GreenFunds
Your data

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

The short version. We collect only what we need, we do not sell your personal data, and we use analytics and similar tools to understand how people use GreenFunds so we can make it better. You stay in control: you can decline non-essential cookies, unsubscribe any time, and ask us to show or delete what we hold about you.

This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act) and other applicable law. It applies to greenfunds and the services on it. In DPDP terms, GreenFunds, operated by Artesia Home, a sole proprietorship based in India, is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. Reach us about any of this at [email protected]. We will give our registered address on request, and to any authority entitled to it.

Who this applies to

GreenFunds is meant for adults in India who want to learn about money and prepare for exams such as the NISM Series V-A. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, as the DPDP Act requires. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.

What we collect

Information you give us.

  • Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter or fill the contact form.
  • Your name, email and profile photo, if you sign in to the exam-prep section with Google or Apple. This is optional and only used to save your learning progress across devices.
  • Your learning activity in your account: lessons completed, quiz answers, streaks and reward coins.
  • Anything you choose to type into a form or message you send us.

Information we collect automatically.

  • Device and browser details, such as browser type, operating system, screen size and language.
  • How you use our pages: which pages and lessons you open, what you click, how far you scroll, and roughly how long you stay. This is exactly the interaction data we use to improve the product.
  • Approximate location (such as country or region) inferred from your IP address, not precise GPS location.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described below.

Payment information. When we offer paid courses, payments are handled by a third-party payment gateway. We receive a confirmation and basic order details, but we do not collect or store your full card or bank account numbers. Never send us your PAN, Aadhaar, passwords, card numbers or other sensitive details by email or through a lesson.

Analytics and product-improvement tools

We use third-party analytics and product-analytics tools to understand how visitors and learners interact with our pages and products. We do this only to improve the product and grow our business responsibly, for example to see which lessons help most, where people get stuck, and which features are worth building. These tools may set cookies or use similar identifiers and may collect the usage data listed above.

Depending on what we have enabled, these may include web and traffic analytics (such as Google Analytics or a privacy-focused alternative), product and behaviour analytics that show how features are used, and performance and error monitoring. Where the law requires consent for such tools, we ask for it through the cookie banner before they run, and we prefer settings that limit how much identifiable data is collected. We do not use this data to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

How we use your data

  • To provide what you asked for, such as the newsletter, a reply, or your saved progress.
  • To run, secure and improve GreenFunds, and to understand how it is used.
  • To personalise your learning, such as showing your streak, coins and where you left off.
  • To show and measure advertising that helps keep the free content free.
  • To deliver and support paid courses, and to send invoices and service messages, once those launch.
  • To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations, and to prevent fraud or misuse.

Session replay. We use Microsoft Clarity, which records how people move, click and scroll through pages, and builds heatmaps from it. This helps us see where a lesson confuses people or a button is missed. Clarity sets cookies and these recordings are personal data. We ask Clarity to mask text and form inputs so what you type, including your email at checkout, is not captured. We do not use these recordings to identify you, and we do not sell them. If you would rather not be recorded, you can opt out through Microsoft or use your browser's do-not-track and tracking-protection settings.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use a few kinds:

  • Essential cookies and local storage that make the site work, remember your preferences, and keep your learning progress on your device.
  • Analytics cookies that help us understand usage, as described above.
  • Advertising cookies set by ad partners to show and measure ads.

You can control cookies through the consent banner and your browser settings. If you decline non-essential cookies, the site still works, and any ads shown are non-personalised (contextual) rather than tailored to you.

Advertising

Some pages show ads served by ad networks, such as Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. Where you are in a region that requires it, we run ads in non-personalised mode until you consent to personalised ads. You can also manage ad personalisation in your Google account and browser settings.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run GreenFunds, under agreements that limit them to our instructions. These include:

  • Hosting and content delivery providers.
  • Analytics and product-analytics providers.
  • Email and newsletter delivery providers.
  • Sign-in and account providers (Google and Apple, and Google Firebase for storing your progress).
  • Advertising partners.
  • A payment gateway, once paid courses launch.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a business transfer. Some providers may process data on servers outside India, with safeguards consistent with applicable law.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, or as the law requires. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Account and progress data is kept while your account is active. Analytics data is kept in aggregated or limited-retention form. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, as below.

Your consent, and how to take it back

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 treats consent as something you give knowingly and can take back at any time. So we ask before anything that measures you runs, and we make refusing as easy as agreeing.

  • What we ask for. Permission to record how pages are used, through cookies and session recordings, so we can see where a lesson confuses people.
  • What happens if you say no. Nothing loads, nothing is recorded, and the whole site works exactly as it does for everyone else. Refusing costs you no feature.
  • How to change your mind. Use the Cookie choices link in the footer of any page. It reopens the same choice, and changing it takes effect immediately.
  • What runs without asking. Only what is needed to serve the site and remember your own progress on your device. That is not used to profile you and is not sold.

If you are under 18

The DPDP Act treats anyone under 18 as a child and sets a higher bar. Where the Act applies, a child's personal data may be processed only with verifiable consent from a parent or guardian, and the Act restricts tracking, behavioural monitoring and advertising directed at children.

GreenFunds is written for adults preparing for exams and managing their own money. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not sign in or subscribe, and ask a parent or guardian before using the site. If you believe a child has given us data, email [email protected] and we will remove it.

Your rights under the DPDP Act

Subject to the law, you can:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Ask us to correct, complete or update it.
  • Ask us to erase it, where it is no longer needed.
  • Withdraw consent you gave earlier, as easily as you gave it.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you are unable to.
  • Raise a grievance about how we handle your data.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected] or use the contact page. We will respond within the timelines the law sets. If you are not satisfied, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

The words the Act uses

The DPDP Act uses specific terms. In plain words:

  • Data Principal. You. The person the data is about.
  • Data Fiduciary. Us. Whoever decides why and how your data is handled, and is answerable for it.
  • Data Processor. A service acting on our instructions, such as our hosting or payment provider.
  • Notice. The plain explanation that has to come with a consent request, which is what this policy is.
  • Data Protection Board of India. The body you can complain to if we do not put something right.

This policy is written in English. If you would find it easier in another language, write to us and we will do our best to help.

Grievance Officer

In line with the DPDP Act and the IT Act, you can reach our Grievance Officer for any data concern:

Write to [email protected] with "Grievance" in the subject line. We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and to resolve within the period the law allows. If we have not resolved it to your satisfaction, you can escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please help by keeping your account sign-in safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our product, tools or the law change. We will post the new version here with a fresh date, and for significant changes we will make a reasonable effort to tell you.
