Questions people ask

What is the 1930 helpline?

1930 is the national helpline for reporting cyber financial fraud in India, run under the Ministry of Home Affairs. You call it to report money lost to an online, UPI, card or banking fraud, so the money can be flagged with the banks involved as quickly as possible.

When should I call 1930?

As soon as you notice money has been taken through a fraud, ideally within the first hour. The sooner the report is made, the better the chance the money can be stopped before the scammer withdraws it. Also file a written complaint at cybercrime.gov.in and tell your bank.

What details should I keep ready when I call 1930?

Keep the date and time of the fraud, the amount, your bank or app name, the transaction ID, the UPI ID or account the money went to, and screenshots of any chats or messages. These make the complaint faster and more useful.
