Digital arrest

A fake "arrest" over a video call used by scammers; no real agency does this.

Example. A caller claiming to put you under digital arrest is always a scammer.

Digital arrest is not a real legal process. It is a scam where fraudsters pose as police, CBI or customs on a video call, claim you are part of a crime, and keep you “under arrest” online while they pressure you to pay. Indian authorities have said no agency arrests anyone over a video call, so any such claim is fraud. Report it on 1930.
