BSBDA
Also called Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account
Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account: a savings account with no minimum balance and free basic services.
A BSBDA is the true zero balance account. It exists so that anyone can bank without being charged for holding too little money. RBI rules, updated in December 2025 and in force from 1 April 2026, widened what it must include for free. The main limit is that you can hold only one across all banks, so it works best as your main everyday account. Check the current RBI directions before relying on these details.
